5 Things I'm Over

On Friday, Stacy over at Anymommy posted a list of things she's over. She asked readers to post their own lists in her comments, but I decided to put mine here, instead. If you have a list you'd like to share, post it in the comments or provide a link to your blog. (Nothing like a little pre-Christmas rant to get you in the holiday spirit.) 1) Political systems that reward decisions that help representatives get re-elected, as opposed to decisions that move the country forward. 2) Rich people who believe they should carry a lighter share of the tax burden because, if they wanted to, they could take that extra money and create jobs with it. 3) Poor people who believe they should be able to live middle-class lifestyles without going to work every day. 4) Workers who believe they should be able to work for 30 years, then sit on their butts for another 30. (Unless they manage to save up enough money to be self-supporting for 15 or 20 of that. Which is nearly impossible to do on the average salary, which, in turn, is why neither the government nor individual employers can afford to subsidize that option.) 5) People, in general, who believe you can make selfish, self-indulgent choices forever and never pay the piper. And if you think that's not happening, I refer you to item 1. (I'm a tiny bit peeved over what's going on in Washington. Can you tell?) And a happy Monday morning to you!

  3. Where do I start? Okay, I'm going to stick with just one. I'm over politicians getting elected and going to Washington and then deciding we really don't know what we want and they decide they know what is better for us than we ourselves know. I do think it is time to re-examine term limits.

  7. I'll second Samantha's comment. Your list is pretty good. I'm sure I could 5 more, but yours are fine.

  9. I agree with all your points.

Washington, and Alaska, are dead to me.

I want a Green Tea Party.

  10. Ooooh! Girl, don't get me started. I don't think I could stop at just 5 things I can't stand.

    But here are a few:

    1) I don't like people who don't appreciate what they have, and instead focus on what they don't have.

    2) People annoy me who don't appreciate this very moment, and instead dwell on the past or what's in the non-guaranteed future.

    3) I can't stand spoiled children, and the parents who spoil them.

    4) I no longer like turtle neck shirts. They make my chin look saggy.

    5) The US dollar bill coin. What's THAT's about anyway?

  11. LOVE madtexter!

But I saw Harry Reid on NBC tonight and I'm with him! Quit focusing on those insignificant earmarky things and get that bill passed now! The longer those millionaires, billionaires, and gazillionaires have all that money...the madder we're all going to get!
