As he sipped the coffee and checked e-mails, he thought about Ms. Raisy's concern and wanted to assure her he is well and happy in life.
He wonderful wife is asleep upstairs and their son is off to college where he is a freshman specializing in performance piano. Their cat Muggles has been fed, and the Sunday morning paper just hit the driveway.

Today he will take groceries to his Mom and buy a few more Christmas goodies. He is delighted to read the blog and thankful to be published in spite of occasional dark references. He asked the attending nurse for a pen and scribbled:

Up in the corner of the spout
Where the icy water runs out
On the edge of every roof
Her soul remains aloof

The Maple leaves, The Pine receives
The sadness colden clog
I wait for Spring within this thing
My God I love this blog!

Suddenly Mr. Horton was being sedated again, and as he drifted off, he imagined himself as Colonel Kurtz....in the shadow....squeezing the dank water over his forehead and saying out loud softly, " ...foregoing Sunday School to watch cartoons..."
